EVOLUTION: The Roots of Our Movement. Saturday, October 26, 2013. 7pm in the Pythian Theater. The rich history and culture of West African Dance and Drumming comes alive at the King Arts Complex with exhilarating performances by 3 renowned dance companies: I Am D.A.N.C.E., Djun'Kendafala Dance Company, and Tapestry Performing Arts Company! Graduate Research Forum. Monday, October 28, 2013. 12:30-2pm in the 18th Ave Library, room 205. Come hear what current graduate students are investigating, and have the chance to engage with their research. Presenters include Tawanda Chabikwa, Michael Morris, Rachael Riggs Levya, and Janet Schroeder.

Real Talk: A Candid Conversation with Professionals with DiversAbilities. Wednesday, October 30, 2013. 4-6pm at the Younkin Success Center. A series of professional development workshops provided by WrightChoice, Inc. The workshop consists of two components – a panel discussion and a networking reception. During the discussion, panelists will share candid stories of their journey from campus to the workplace, and the networking reception will provide an opportunity for one-on-one discussion with representatives from government and large corporations. Coming soon: We’re as Lost as You Are. Thursday- Saturday, November 14-16, 2013 - 8pm at the EMMA Lab at ACCAD. Featuring choreographers Owen David and David Thill, part of the 2013-2014 season of MFA and BFA presentations. Owen David will present his MFA thesis work, here(ing), a meditation on time and space. David Thill will present Growing Pains, a solo piece that greets the world with a resounding, “I thought it would be different.” Also featuring work by visiting artist Jimmy Ortiz. Admission is free, but reservations are required. See event entry.

Dance Downtown is coming

Join the event page on Facebook and invite your friends! 8pm Friday & Saturday, November 22-23, 2013 at the Capitol Theatre, Riffe Center, 77 S High St, Columbus. Four award winning contemporary choreographers, including three OSUdance alums take inspiration from the expressive instrument of the guitar to create this year’s Dance Downtown, the annual concert that showcases the talents of undergraduate and graduate dance majors.

Moving Works – All interested applicants should submit a portfolio of their work received in office by Thursday, December 5, 2013.
