MFA Showing: Cornering a Hare. Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 6:30-8pm and Friday-Saturday, March 1-2, 2013 - 4:30-6pm at the Urban Arts Space, 50 West Town Street. Cornering a Hare by Paige Phillips includes four performance based installations that are looped and informed by one another. The works revolve around a common theme: the reimagining of religious and folk traditions into a contemporary art practice. Pilgrimage, trance, meditation, and gestures found in the Catholic church, kawaii, and Renaissance iconography will be examined. The evening includes dance, performance, and visual art, and it explores what is the boundary between high art and folk art.
