The Wexner Center for the Arts is offering a unique opportunity for performers to participate in our upcoming exhibition of the work of Josiah McElheny, on view January 27-April 7, 2013. Working primarily with glass, McElheny is deeply interested in the related ideas of reflection, performance, and utopia. Included in this exhibition are two-performance based pieces, Walking Mirror 1 and 2 (both 2012). These are wearable sculptures reminiscent of modified sandwich boards in which the outside surfaces are mirrored, reflecting visitors, viewers and other works. The performers follow a path drawn by the artist on the floor of the gallery while wearing the Walking Mirror – the performances themselves usually last between 10-20 minutes. Ideally, performers will be 5’9” or taller. We are looking to plan performances twice weekly between Monday and Friday, but our schedule is flexible based on volunteer availability. If you are interested and would like more information on this exciting project, please contact David Crane at or at 614-688-5515.

Updates to Open Studio Scheduling
Google just retired its appointment setting feature within GoogleCal, the system we used last semester for Open Studio reservations. We have switched to a new service. The Open Studio Signup page has been updated to include new links and instructions. While the system works much more seamlessly and is easier to understand than the previous implementation, please read the Open Studio Signup page before you use the service. Please remember that the Open Studio Signup is not a substitute for the Studio Request Form. Continue to use the Studio Request Form for regular rehearsal slots. Visit the facilities page for info and policies.

You no longer need to signup for each half hour slot individually. There is a function to select duration.
The administrative function for creating slots week by week is now automated. Between 7am-11pm, times not booked by classes and rehearsals are automatically made available. The calendar has been customized so that slots will always be available seven days in advance.
The interface is generally more appealing and it is easier to see what is available.
You no longer need to log in or use a Google account. Instead of logging in to your GoogleCal to delete reservations you no longer intend to use, you can cancel it by clicking on the link in the email confirmation. Odie will still be able to email you through the GoogleCal service if a conflict arises.

If you encounter any issues regarding the technology, please let Melissa know. All other questions regarding scheduling go to Odie. If you have any ideas for better customization, bring it up during committee meetings and we will do our best to accommodate.
