Isadora is a program for interactive control of digital media during performance, offering real-time manipulation of video and audio. This workshop will introduce basic programming skills in Isadora, enabling participants to build a patch that has the ability to:play and mix several recorded and live video feeds simultaneously; manipulate attributes in real-time, e.g. zoom, speed, delay, brightness, color, looping, special effects; and create a user-friendly control page with sliders and buttons that alter video and audio during performance. In addition, the workshop will demonstrate how to connect Isadora to required hardware at EMMA such as the video switcher, projectors, and cameras. This workshop is open to students at the Ohio State University. No prior experience is necessary, although basic computer literacy and some familiarity with the EMMA lab is an asset. Participants will be limited to eight. Please email Teoma Naccarato (.2) to register. More information about Isadora.

Ballet 2 Update
As part of their class this quarter, Ballet 2 (411.05) has been blogging about ballet! Here's a preview of what they're saying: "I have to remember to use my inner thighs to hold what turn out I have been graced with." "There is never a point when you have it 'perfect'. The work is never done." and... "Maybe I'll actually be taller by the end of this quarter..." See the blog for more.
