Auditions: AIDA

The OSU Department of Theatre is producing the Elton John rock musical theatre version of AIDA this fall for six shows at the Southern Theatre, November 18-21, 2010. Susan Hadley is the choreographer. We are looking for dancers who can sing for five large chorus scenes and a short "exotic dancer" number. We might use some dancers who cannot sing, so please consider auditioning even if you do not have a strong voice.

Rehearsals are Monday-Friday, 6:30-10:30 and Sunday afternoons. Dancers/chorus will be called about 3-4 times a week during the first month; but during the last month all of these times will be used. OSU Dance rehearsals will not begin until winter quarter, so AIDA will not conflict with any faculty works.

Auditions are in the Theatre Department (Drake Union):
Thursday, September 23 and Friday, September 24: sign-up online or in the Theatre Dept. for a five-minute time slot (details TBA): prepare 32 bars of a rock/pop, rock musical song, or song from AIDA.
Monday, September 27; 6:30-10:30: Dance callbacks
Wednesday, September 29: rehearsals begin

Please contact Susan Hadley (hadley.4) for further details.

I think dancing is a great way to remove stress. Dancing keeps me in the present and melts all of my anxieties away.

And when i dance a while the old endorphins kick in and make me feel even more relaxed with no worries at all.
