Message from Gordon Gee
President E. Gordon Gee sent Susan Van Pelt Petry the following message after viewing the Spring Concert on Friday night, May 28, 2010:

“The Spring concert was just what the doctor ordered. Given my brutal schedule on occasion I need to be reminded why the two of us do what we do. I really enjoyed the evening. Pass along my congratulations to your students.”

Julie Cruse officially launched the scholarship she co-founded, the Sandusky High School Ronald Albert & Kenneth McFarlan Arts Impact Award, this May 22nd. Cruse raised 15% of their scholarship goal for next year at the launch event, a retirement celebration commemorating the careers of SHS Choir Director Ronald Albert and SHS Band and Music Director Kenneth McFarlan. Sandusky High School has continued to hold a state and national reputation for artistic and musical excellence. Albert leads members of the Sandus-Keynotes and Bell Choir to perform roughly 70 concerts during the Christmas Season for nursing homes, veterans, and many others in the local community and surrounding areas. Many alumni of Mr. Albert and Mr. McFarlan go on to become talented artists and leaders in their communities. Cruse, who recently completed her MFA in Dance & Technology at OSU, was as an alumnus of them both. Cruse says that the Arts Impact Award scholarship is meant to thank them for inspiring her career, to honor Mr. Albert and Mr. McFarlan's careers, and to extend their legacy of impact on students and community by awarding Sandusky High School students a scholarship toward an arts degree. This site will send a check directly to the BoE at the end of the collection period.
