Contact Improvisation Jam - Three Chances to Jam
October 24, November 14 & 28, 4:00-6:00pm, Studio 3
Lesson: before jam 3:30pm-4:00pm, Studio 3
Contact Improvisation is a physical investigation into gravity, momentum, and weight sharing between two or more bodies. Dancers move with constant attentiveness to their own bodies, impulses, and trajectories, while listening and responding authentically to their partners. The form encourages mindful awareness and mutual exchange. A Contact Jam is an open, informal space to which dancers of all types and backgrounds are invited to explore their bodies in a kinesthetic relationship to other bodies. Come early for a short lesson before the jam, 3:30-4pm. The jam is not facilitated, but beginners are welcome and can receive an informal introduction to the form.
Most recently, the Improv Rep Ensemble performed at the 60x60 Columbus performance at Wall Street Nightclub and at the first annual Clintonville Crawl. We are continuing our performative practice and invite all students, faculty, and staff to a showing of our work/process in progress on Thursday, October 22 at 1:30pm in Studio 2 Sullivant Hall!
FOD maintenance personnel will be undertaking the annual cooling-to-heating season transition in your respective buildings in the weeks to come. As we transition into the heating season, you may notice increased activity from FOD maintenance personnel in and around the mechanical spaces of your buildings. During the next several weeks, year-end cooling maintenance will be occurring while the heating systems are prepared for the upcoming demand.
Specifically, in your building the maintenance personnel will be shutting down certain cooling systems, where applicable, and performing the proper maintenance to bring the heating systems on-line. We are working to ensure a seamless changeover from cooling to heating. However, weather variations may cause unanticipated fluctuations to interior temperatures as we progress through this transition. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience as we perform these necessary tasks. If you have any questions or concerns related to this transition to heating, please contact your designated Zone Leader.
