Adjudication for Winter and Spring Concerts

On Saturday, December 5, in Sullivant Theatre at 1 PM, the Department of Dance will adjudicate for the Winter Concert which will be produced March 4-6 - that's the 9th week of WI 2010. Also, works will be chosen at that time for ACDFA at Ohio University. The dates for the festival are March 19-22 - that's F-M of finals week and spring break.

For anyone new to the 'system', dances are performed at the adjudication. A panel of faculty, staff & students selects the 10 or so pieces for the concert. During Winter Quarter, choreographers/directors attend a class - Dance 750 - on Friday afternoons. The class is a workshop to look at work and give feedback, help determine costumes, produce posters, fliers, programs, etc.

Anyone may show work at the adjudication. But, preference is given to works that are fairly complete. Works that are just ideas will not be considered. Also, in order to be considered, choreographers and dancers must be receiving credit for the piece this quarter.

The same process repeats for the Spring Concert. Adjudication will be Saturday, March 13th, in Sullivant Theatre at 1 pm. The concert is the 9th week of Sp'10 - May 27-29.
