Screening with Q&A. Thursday, October 22, 2009; 7 - 8:30pm
Join us for a screening of the feature-length documentary, Thinking On Their Feet: Women of the Tap Renaissance. Following the screening will be a short Q&A session with director Jenai Cutcher. Thinking On Their Feet documents the women who revolutionized the art of American percussive dance. Determined to keep tap dance alive, they sought out former vaudeville and MGM hoofers and convinced them to return to the stage, forging a place for tap in venues better known for producing ballet and modern dance.

60X60 Project: Shawn Hove Seeking Dancers
There is a great event happening on Saturday, October 3, 2009: an accumulation of 60 new choreographic works set to 60 one-minute music and sound scores, called 60x60 Dance at the Wallstreet Nightclub in Downtown Columbus. And I want YOU TO BE A PART OF IT, and dance for me. BIG Sweaters is the title of the piece I am working on and it needs many many dancers. The more the merrier and all are welcome (from freshman to grads to faculty and staff). Just show up, don’t be shy. ONE BIG rehearsal Sunday September 27 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at The OSU Department of Dance. Studio TBA. Your obligation would be to show up to the September 27 rehearsal and be available Saturday, October 3 from 1:00pm till 10:00pm. There will be some breaks in there but the schedule is still in the making so you will need to be flexible with the day. There will be a 7:30pm show and a 9:00pm show. You must be able to do both and you must be over 18. And you should own one big sweater, tennis shoes, and be ok with bare legs. And last, if by some chance you are already involved in this sweet event and want to do more you can not be in any of the first 20 pieces. It’s going to BFFE (big fun for everyone), so please come be apart of it. Please take some time and go to this link and give it some thought. More info about the 60X60 organization. If you have any questions come find me, if you don’t know me ask around someone will point me out for you. My email is email@example.com. Peace and rock on, Shawn Hove
