WEEK NINE: MARCH 3-7

SPECIAL EVENTS AND OPPORTUNITIES
HAPPY LAST WEEK!

DEPARTMENTAL INFORMANCE
Sign up, sign up!
It's official -this quarter, the Departmental Informance will be on THURSDAY MARCH 6 10:30-12:00. Ballet classes are to attend the Informance that day. All majors, graduates, minors, staff, and lecturers are invited. This is because the OhioDance Festival will be setting up and revving up on Friday, our usual Informance time. And since there is a class in the theatre, we will gather in STUDIO 1!!!!! Given the density of activities this quarter, there will be no reception following the informance. In lieu of that the chair will be doing something nice for everyone at the beginning of Spring Quarter. The student reps are organizing the event, so be in touch with one of them if you are interested in showing something.

FACILITIES
Greetings, one and all!
This message is to inform everyone that YOU (yes, you) have until the onset of spring break to rid the Studio 6 storage closet of any items that are of personal value. Come March 18th, any item left behind will become DUMPSTER FOOD or THRIFT DONATION. Please rescue your trampoline, your library of aged books, your prototype projection screen, your astro turf square, your turn tables, your old-school hair dryer, and all other various and sundry items of despair, relief, happiness, and general nostalgia.
Thanks so much!
Carrie C.

So here's an example of mass culture being way ahead of the would-be thinkers and pushers, frontliners of artmaking!

Would be nice if all studios and clubs and gyms were built this way; we'd be contributing not just to social beliefs and such, we'd be contributing to sustainability!
although funding to higher ed is getting cut, i hope that whoever up there is in charge of building this school shares clinton's belief that environmental-restructuring can create jobs, reduce unemployment rates, and pull the US out of its projected-possible-recession.
there's my ditzy non-economically-sound but hopefully-logical penny's worth.
quoting my teacher: "anybody listening? anybody care?"

oh dear that was supposed to read "movers and shakers" and i definitely think "shakers" is a better word because it implies sand moving around and being redistributed and balanced out, rather than being pushy and pushing things along grunting and groaning getting somewhere.

thanks for the link to the sustainable dance club - very cool. I want that here!

maybe I can ask you to be a lead on a "Green Team" for the Department and make recommendations and help to take action. Interested? write or stop by.
