SPECIAL EVENTS AND OPPORTUNITIES
CALL FOR ENTRIES
The American Dance Festival calls for innovators to step forward with submissions for the 13th annual Dancing for the Camera: International Festival of Film and Video Dance. The early deadline for film/video submissions is March 11, 2008, by 6pm with an entry fee of $30. All submissions must meet the final deadline of April 11, 2008, by 6pm. OSU URBAN ARTS SPACE OPENING
The Ohio State University College of the Arts is unveiling the new
OSU Urban Arts Space in downtown Columbus with a grand opening celebration Friday, February 8, 2008 5:30-8 pm
50 W Town St, in the former Lazarus building
Hosted by Karen Bell, Dean, College of the Arts.

SPEAKING OF THE URBAN ARTS SPACE... JOBS AVAILABLE
3 to 4 graduate or undergraduate students are needed to work 15 to 30 hours per week in the space. Student assistants will help with gallery reception but also assist with administrative projects. The hope is to hire students who have an interest in one or more of the following areas of focus:
- Development
- Education & Community Engagement
- Event Coordination
- Programming
Projects will be developed based on the student’s interests and abilities. Unpaid internships are also available for those seeking college credit.

Sympatico Percussion Group
Sympatico presents its debut performance in Weigel Hall on Tuesday,
January 22 at 8 PM. Coming together from different parts of the
U.S., the quintet features OSU percussion professors Susan Powell and
Joe Krygier along with Scott Herring (University of South Carolina),
Chris Norton (Belmont University) and Kris Keeton (Virginia
Commonwealth University). The eclectic program will highlight some
of the best works for chamber percussion written over the past 30
years with ranges in musical styles from ragtime to contemporary,
world to electronic. Tickets are only $6 for students and $12
general admission and are available at the door. Visit

FACILITIES
Please remember to close the windows in each studio before you leave. Changes in weather affect the piano tunings, floors get wet, break-ins occur, and the Spanish Inquisition will come after you.
