Columbus Movement Movement announces Master class Modern Technique with Kristin Hapke/tindance
Sat. Oct. 27 11:00am-12:30pm at Columbus Dance Theater 592 E. Main Stree, class $10 for non cm2 memebers and $5 for cm2 members.

Emphasizing flow and momentum, this master technique class is a fun, full-bodied, class to strengthen body connectivity for more complex and riskier dancing. Using Release Technique and an interplay of quirky and highly athletic movements, we will play with dynamic shifts, floor work and upside down vocabulary. Comecultivate the body's energies in order to work in harmony with power, ease and release.
This October, Columbus Movement Movement (cm2) offers a program of exciting new contemporary dance in its fall showcase, Columbus Dances VI. The showcase features several new artists as well as some familiar favorites. Cm2 was formed to bring together Columbus dancers and choreographers with the common goal of making exciting contemporary dance. In this upcoming performance, cm2 will be presenting work by Nicole Cafera, Kristin Hapke/tindance, Sarah Hixon (Hixon Dance), Shawn Hove (shove gently dance), and trideaDance. Some of OSU Department of Dance’s own Karen Eliot, Jeff Marras, Chris Havner, Elizabeth Goodrich, and Gregory Mac will be performing. So come support the gang. Columbus Dance VI is in part produced by Columbus Dance Theatre.

Columbus Dances VI performances will be held October 26-28, 2007, at the Fisher Theatre at Columbus Dance Theatre, 592 E. Main Street in the Market Exchange District. Friday and Saturday performances are at 8:00 p.m., and Sunday matinee is at 2:00 p.m. Ticket prices are $15 for adults, $10 for students, seniors, and cm2 members. NEWARK, OH (October 11, 2007) – The Midland’s inaugural Dance Series debuts on Sunday, November 4, at 8:00 p.m. with Ailey II, building upon a tradition of bringing world class dance to our community. Sponsored by Time Warner Cable, the series will feature beautiful works presented in an accessible fashion on The Midland’s beautiful, intimate stage. Under the artistic direction of Sylvia Waters, Ailey II has captivated audiences nationwide through translating their strength, agility and grace of body and soul into stirring, powerful performances. The Ailey spirit shines as the company performs an exhilarating and diverse repertoire that includes Alvin Ailey’s timeless classics and new works by dance veterans and the most exciting emerging choreographers. This show is supported by The Boeing Company.
