There are three final candidates for the next Chair of the Department, Susan Van Pelt Petry, who interviewed last week, and Ann Dils and Doug Risner who will be in the department this week. On Monday and Tuesday (February 5th and 6th) Ann Dils will be here. Students, please try to attend the lunch meeting scheduled for Monday at noon in studio 1 (and any other activities that may interest you - like Ann's research presentation). Doug Risner will be here on Thursday and Friday (Feb. 8 & 9) . Misty will send you his information and interview schedule soon.

To provide an additional opportunity for your input, the Chair Search Committee has scheduled an Open Forum on Monday February 12 at 8:45 a.m. to give you a chance to meet with the search committee and to share your thoughts on the three candidates as well.
Alpha Omega will be teaching a master class for the freshmen on Wednesday February 14 at 2:30 pm. There's room for about 10 more students so sign up if you're interested! It should be a great class. Sign up sheet is on the downstairs bulletin board. Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company was founded in 1972 by Ronald Pratt, along with Miriam Greaves and Dolores Vanison-Blakely. The Company's purpose was to expand opportunities for minority choreographers and dancers. The repertory consists of a wide range of ballets, from urban life to that of tribal influences from the abstract to the dramatic.
Hip Hop artist Manwe' will be teaching a master class at Infusion Dance Studio downtown on March 4 from 1:00-2:30 (beg/int) and 3:30-5:30 (int/adv). The cost to attend this workshop is $25 (cash only). Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to register.
Lori Bellilove, "...one of the most impassioned and authentic Duncan interpreters around," will be teaching a master class in the Isadora Duncan technique on Friday, February 9, 10:30 am. She will be teaching Abby's Modern 3 class, but anyone else is welcome to sign up and participate. The sign up sheet is posted on the DOWNSTAIRS BULLETIN BOARD.
Summer Teaching for Grads
Just a reminder to let Susan Petry know ASAP if you are interested in
teaching in the elective program this summer. Let her know what you
would like to teach. Nothing is guaranteed, but we are looking to
cover our summer offerings NOW. Please note that, as part of your TA, you would be required to take a minimum of 9 credit hours.
Scholarships and Funding
Applications for all scholarships are due to John Giffin on or before Monday Feb. 19, 2007 by 12 noon. The committee will have only one week to review all applications and make our recommendations. Therefore, we cannot accept any late applications.

A Recipe for Success from Jenny Howard
Looking for a protein energy kick for that 10:15-10:30 time slot when it's not enough time for a sandwich, and that banana just isn't cutting it? TRY THIS!!
Peanut Butter Balls (a recipe from "The Teenager's Vegetarian Cookbook" courtesy of Jenny Howard)
1/4 cup shredded carrots (that's about 6 baby carrots)
1/4 cup raisins
2 Tablespoons brown sugar
1/4 cup granola
3/4 cup peanut butter
Mix everything together except peanut butter.
Put peanut butter in microwave for 30-60 seconds to soften it.
Add peanut butter to mixture. Mix.
Let the mixture cool a little bit.
Make balls about one inch. Eat. Have Energy!!
Also, you can add all kinds of your own things like yogurt covered raisins, cheerios or crispix, etc. have fun!
