Weekly Announcements: WEEK 3: Jan 15-21

Check out the Contemporary Music Festival on Feb 1 at 8pm in Weigel Auditorium! The compositions are by OSU Alumni and Student Composers Yuri Bortz, Richard Jordan Smoot, Keith Dippre, Daniel Perttu, Matthew Saunders and Vera Stanojevic. These could be potential collaborators for future projects! Check out their concert to make some connections.

If you are interested in working with Teena Custer on teaching styles and history of Hip Hop culture, sign up for one credit independent study under Susan Petry. The call number is 05792-2. Email petry.37@osu.edu for more information.

Ashley Thorndike is leading a Yoga practice at 9:30-10:15 in Studio 2 on Mondays and Wednesdays if anyone is interested in signing up for a one credit independent study. The call number for Yoga is 21832-1.

Yen Fang Yu's Tai Chi Dowing class is also available for a one credit independent study which would meet Mondays and Wednesdays at 8:45-10:15. Check back for the call number.

Ming-Lung Yang just returned from New York where he premiered the first draft of a new solo as part of the A.W.A.R.D. (Artists With Audiences Responding 2 Dance) show.

This week in Dance
It's time to make your reservations - Solo Works is this weekend. Kristina Isabelle presents Solo Works, an evening of solos created by and for Kristina. Special guest choreographers are Bebe Miller, Jordan Fuchs and Eoin O'Brien. Perfomers include Isabelle plus Jeffrey Fouch and Jessica McKelvey. The show is at 8pm this Friday and Saturday, Jan 19-20, and at 2pm on Sunday, Jan 21 at Columbus Dance Theatre, 592 E. Main Street. Tickets: $15.00 General admission / $10.00 Students, Seniors, and cm2 members. For reservations & info call 614-849-0227. There is a nice preview in the Columbus Alive - check it out! After the show - Friday night Jan 19 at 11pm there is a special performance at BOMA (Bar of Modern Art), 583 E. Broad Street.
